Calculation Groups

Calculation Groups allow users to group calculations that serve common goals, such as calculations for the same source type across varying telemetry types, materials, and inputs.

Search for a Calculation Group

  1. Expand the “Configuration” menu on the sidebar navigation. 
  2. Expand the “Calculations” menu under “Configurations”.
  3. Expand the “Calculation Groups” menu under “Calculations”.
  4. Locate calculation groups using the Data Filters.
  5. Select Refresh to view your results.
  6. View the detailed information or edit this calculation group.

Create a calculation group

  1. Expand the “Configuration” menu on the sidebar navigation. 
  2. Expand the “Calculations” menu under “Configurations”.
  3. Expand the “Calculation Groups” menu under “Calculations”.
  4. Select the plus icon to add a new calculation group.
  5. Populate the fields.  Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
    • Name*: Enter the name of the calculation group.
      • NOTE: Assetas recommends naming calculations to include the following:
        • Regulating Agency
        • Source Type
        • For example: Colorado Emission Inventory Natural Gas Combustion Sources
    • Description: Enter the detailed description of the calculation.
    • Managed By*: Select the contact who manages this calculation.
    • Applicable Asset: Select the asset type(s) that may use this calculation group.
    • Archived: Toggle on to indicate if this item is disabled for use.
    • Tags: Enter the list of tags associated with this record.
    • External Identifier: Enter a unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
    • Comments: Any comments you would like to store for this record.
  6. Select “Add” to save the new calculation group.

Develop a calculation group

After the calculation group has been created, user can manage which calculations are associated to which calculation groups.

Associate a calculation to a calculation group

  1. Select the link icon to create a new association.
  2. Populate the fields.  Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
    • Calculation*: Select the calculation that is linked to the calculation group.
  3. Select “Save” upon completion.

Unassociate a calculation from a calculation group

  1. Select the unlink icon to remove this association.
  2. Select “Yes” to confirm your selection.

Associated Assets

To the right of each asset, under the Actions menu, you may:

  • View the asset details.
  • Edit the association between the asset and the calculation group.
  • Remove the association between the asset and the calculation group. 

Manage calculation group

  1. Locate the calculation group.
  2. To the right of each record, under the Actions menu, you may:
    • Edit the calculation group.
    • Download the calculation group definition for import into another database.
      • NOTE: Downloading a calculation group includes the following associated records: Asset Type, Emission Type, Asset Property Types (and any associations to Asset Types), Analysis Property Types, Telemetry Types, Material, Calculation, and Calculation Group.
    • Copy the calculation group to immediately create a duplicated record in the database. When used, update the new name of the copied record to a unique value.
    • Delete the calculation group. You may delete types only when they are not in use at any record.
