Inputs
Inputs can be pre-defined from analysis property types, asset property types, and telemetry.
Create Analysis Property Inputs
- Select the analysis beaker icon to add a new analysis property type as an input to this calculation. This input utilizes the most recent analysis it finds with an analysis date equal to, or after, the calculated date that is associated to the asset.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Analysis Type*: The analysis type that contains the property used as an input in the calculation formula.
- Property Type*: The property type that is used as an input in the calculation formula.
- Name*: The name of the analysis property type that will be referenced in the calculation formula.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.
- Description: The detailed description of the analysis property input.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.
- External Identifier: A unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
Create Form Question Inputs
- Select the form icon to add a new form question as an input to this calculation. This input utilizes every form question it finds with a form date equal to, or after, the active date of the calculation that is associated to the asset. The asset to which the calculation is associated must also be linked to the form. Depending on the types of form questions utilized, the frequency of the calculation will likely be set to “intermittent”.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Form Question*: The form question used as an input in the calculation formula.
- Name*: The name of the form question that will be referenced in the calculation formula.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.
- Description: The detailed description of the form question input.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.
- External Identifier: A unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
Create Asset Property Inputs
- Select the asset cube icon to add a new asset property type as an input to this calculation.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Property Type*: The property type that is used as an input in the calculation formula.
- Name*: The name of the analysis property type that will be referenced in the calculation formula.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.
- Description: The detailed description of the property input.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.
- External Identifier: A unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
Create Telemetry Inputs
- Select the thermometer telemetry icon to add a new telemetry type as an input to this calculation.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Telemetry Type*: Select the telemetry type that is used as an input in the calculation formula.
- Target*: Select the target asset that holds the telemetry to use in this calculation.
- Unit of Measure: Select the optional unit of measure used to filter the telemetry data.
- Aggregate*: Select the aggregate to use when there are multiple data points within the calculation frequency’s period.
- Date Range Start (Override): The start of the telemetry’s date range. This is automatically calculated as the start of the calculation’s period, so only enter a value here if you wish to override the default date range.
- For example, to use the first date of the year regardless of the calculation’s frequency, use {CalculationYear}-01-01.
- Date Range End (Override): The end of the telemetry’s date range. This is automatically calculated as the end of the calculation’s period, so only enter a value here if you wish to override the default date range.
- For example, to use the last datetime of the year regardless of the calculation’s frequency, use {CalculationYear}-12-31 23:59:59
- Allow Estimated Data: Toggle on to indicate if telemetry data that is flagged as “Estimated” are allowed in the calculation.
- Allow Invalid Data: Toggle on to indicate if telemetry data that is flagged as “Invalid” are allowed in the calculation.
- Name*: Enter the name of the telemetry type that will be referenced in the calculation formula.
- NOTE: Select the “Use this Value” button to replace the current value with the recommended value.

- External Identifier: Enter a unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
Default Values
To add default values to asset property calculation inputs, click the Create Default button to the right of the input. Each asset property may support multiple default values but their date ranges should not overlap.
The calculation will first search for property type set at the asset that is valid with the date range of the calculation date. If not found, it will search for a default property type that is valid with the date range of the calculation date. If still not found, the calculation is considered invalid for the calculation date.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Active Date*: The date when this default value first applies.
- Inactive Date: The date when this default value no longer applies.
- Value*: The default value to use when one is not specifically defined.
- Description: The detailed description of the default value.
- External Identifier: A unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
To manage default values, you may Edit the default value or Delete the default value.

- Assetas will provide guidance when you enter a soft bracket to facilitate selecting the pre-defined inputs.
Example: (({EF} [kg/mmBtu]) / (1000000 [Btu/mmBtu]) * {BSFC} [Btu/hp-hr] * {HP} [hp] * {t} [hr/month] / (1000.0 [kg/MT])) * (1.0 – (({CE} [%]) / 100.0 [%])) - If you are comparing a text value, it must be in double quotes. For example: IF(“{Controlled}” = “N”
- NOTES:
- Formula: Enter the formula that calculates the emissions. Assetas recommends pairing each input with its corresponding units.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
- Validate that the “As Entered” formula and the “Formatted” formula match your desired expectations.
- NOTE: Utilize parentheses to refine the formatted formula displayed on the Calculation page.
