The “part status” represents the state of that part type. Parts in Assetas are tracked at the part type level rather than individual items. Because of this, statuses should define the catalog item as a whole and not individual parts. Examples: Active, Obsolete, Discontinued, Pending Approval, Restricted.
Add a part status
- Expand the “Configuration” menu on the sidebar navigation.
- Expand the “Lists” menu under “Configuration”.
- Expand the “Statuses” menu under “Lists”.
- Select the “Part” menu.
- Select “Add” to add a part status.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Name*: Enter the part status name.
- The system will not allow part statuses with duplicate names.
- Description*: Enter a description of the part status.
- External Identifier: Enter the unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Name*: Enter the part status name.
- Select “Add” upon completion.
Please note that the description field is required for this type of data record.
Manage statuses
- Locate the part status record.
- If the In Use column displays “Yes”, click the “Yes” text to view a report of all parts with this status.
- To the right of each record, under the Actions menu, you may:
- Edit the part status.
- Download the part status definition for import into another database.
- Delete the part status. You may delete statuses only when they are not in use at any record.
