Telemetry

You are here:

“Telemetry” represents a collection of data used to quantify or describe the operating conditions of an asset over time.  This asset-based data often captures operating parameters such as temperature, pressures, flow, and runtimes.

Search for telemetry

  1. Expand “Telemetry” on the sidebar navigation.
  2. Select “Search” to display the full list of every telemetry data point.
  3. Populate the data filter fields where applicable, or leave blank to view all records.
  4. Select “Search Data” upon completion to view results.

Search Tips

  • Expand the “Data Filters” section to limit the results based on specific fields.
  • Select “Refresh List” to load an updated list; alternatively, select “Reset” to clear all of the filters.
  • Select column headers to sort by column, alphabetically.

Add a new telemetry record

  1. Expand the “Telemetry” menu on the sidebar navigation.
  2. Select “New” to add a telemetry record.
  3. Populate the fields.  Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
    1. Asset*: Select the asset that is linked to this telemetry data point.
    2. Type*: Select the type of telemetry.
    3. Active Date*: Enter the date and time when this telemetry data point applies.
    4. Inactive Date: Enter the date and time this telemetry data point no longer applies.
    5. Numeric Value: Enter the numeric value of the telemetry.
    6. Text Value: Enter the text value of the telemetry.
    7. Unit of Measure*:  Select the unit of measure for the telemetry data point.
    8. Estimated:  Toggle on if the value of the telemetry data point is estimated.
    9. Invalid:  Toggle on if the value of the telemetry data point is invalid.
    10. Collected On*:  Enter the date and time when this telemetry data point was collected.  This field is defaulted to the current date and time.
    11. External Identifier:  Enter a unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
    12. Comments: Enter any comments that apply to the telemetry data point.
  4. Select “Save” upon completion.

Please note that new telemetry data will overwrite existing telemetry data if the asset, telemetry type, active date, and units of measure are the same as an existing data point.

Analysis Information (Anomaly Detection)

Anomaly Detection analyses may be configured from the Asset Details view. Telemetry that has been analyzed for anomaly detection will include the following additional fields in the Analysis Information section when the telemetry record is edited:

  1. Expand the “Telemetry” menu on the sidebar navigation.
  2. Select “Edit” to edit a telemetry record.
  3. View the fields after telemetry has been analyzed.
    1. Analyzed On: The date and time when this telemetry data point was analyzed for anomalies.
    2. Expected Value: The expected numeric value of the telemetry based on the AI model.
    3. Is Anomaly: If the value of the telemetry data point is anomalous. A checkmark indicates an anomaly, and a blank box indicates a nominal value.
    4. Lower Margin: The allowed lower margin of the telemetry based on the analysis configuration.
    5. Upper Margin: The allowed upper margin of the telemetry based on the analysis configuration.
    6. Is Change Point: Toggle on if the value of the telemetry is considered a change point.
    7. Score:  The confidence score of the change point or multivariate analysis.
  4. Select “Save” upon completion.

Lock or unlock a telemetry record
