The asset association type reflects the relationship between two records.
Add a new asset association type
- Expand the “Configuration” menu on the sidebar navigation.
- Expand the “Lists” menu under “Configuration”.
- Expand the “Type” menu under “Lists”.
- Select the “Asset Association” menu.
- Select “Add” to add an asset association type.
- Populate the fields. Data fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Name*: Enter the name of the type of asset association.
- The system will not allow asset association types with duplicate names.
- Description: Enter a description of the asset association type.
- Relationship*: The relationship between the primary and secondary assets. Options include:
- 1-1: One primary asset to one secondary asset.
- 1-M: One primary asset to many secondary assets
- M-M: Many primary assets to many secondary assets
- External Identifier: Enter a unique identifier that represents this record in an external system.
- Name*: Enter the name of the type of asset association.
- Select “Save” upon completion.
Manage asset association types
- Locate the asset association type record.
- To the right of each record, under the Actions menu, you may:
- Edit the asset association type.
- Download the asset association type definition for import into another database.
- Delete the asset association type. You may delete types only when they are not in use at any record.
